The first time I tried these Asian fusion loaded fries my mind was blown, so simple yet utterly addictive! I just had to recreate the recipe for these Samurai Fries at home! This Samurai Fries recipe is so quick and easy to make in the air fryer it’s really is the easiest ultimate Asian fusion recipe! Impress your guests and serve it as the perfect snack to have on game nights with drinks or with girlfriends for an at-home movie night!
To make these Samurai Fries at home in the air fryer you only need five ingredients: frozen shoestring fries (bonus these fries cook the fastest!), Kewpie Mayo, fried shallots, salt and spring onions/scallions. This recipe is so easy it’s ridiculous and so yummy you won’t regret making these Asian fusion cheat fries!
If you unscrew the lid off the Kewpie Mayo it has a cute little ‘piping-type’ swirl nozzle so you can squeeze out a cute mayo swirl on top of your Samurai fries!
Have you grown an abundance of spring onions/scallions or purchased a bunch from the supermarket that you don’t always use up? Chop them up and pop them into a snaplock bag or glass container in the freezer to pull out anytime you need them!
The key to making these Samurai fries perfectly crispy is to cook them in the air fryer until they are golden brown. Once they are cooked, toss them in a generous amount of Kewpie Mayo, a Japanese mayo that is creamier and slightly sweeter than regular mayo. Next, sprinkle on some crispy fried shallots for added texture and flavor. Finish off your loaded fries with a sprinkle of salt and some thinly sliced spring onions.
