There’s nothing like fresh homemade lemonade! 🍋 The most refreshing homemade drink packed with vitamin C without any nasty additives, you can make it as sweet or sour as you prefer.
How to make this Homemade Lemonade:
To make this lemonade you just need to make a simple sugar syrup, add in the acids, squeeze your lemons and add in cold water to store in the fridge. I love to serve this old-fashioned homemade lemonade with ice.
This old-fashioned homemade lemonade is the perfect recipe if you have access to a lemon tree. In our neighbourhood often people are offering lemons for free on our local community page, which is so kind!
Homemade Lemonade Ingredients:
- 4-6 lemons
- White sugar
- Citric acid
- Tartaric acid
- Hot and cold water
This lemonade recipe makes approximately two litres/.5 gallon of lemonade which you can easily double.
We also love to make lemonade ice blocks with this recipe, which I made on Food Prep Friday. You can also freeze this lemonade recipe into ice cubes to add flavour to other drinks.
Homemade Lemonade
Equipment
- 1 Kettle
- 1 large jug
- 2 Glass bottles
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon citric acid
- 1/4 teaspoon tartaric acid
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 4 cups cold water
Instructions
- In a large bowl or jug add the sugar and acids, and stir in the boiling water until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add in the lemon juice and cold water.
- Serve with ice 🍋
