Let’s get cracking and make this holiday season a little sweeter with Christmas Crack, the VIRAL sweet treat everybody makes over the Festive period. Honestly, I don’t think it should be limited to only Christmas time, it’s just that good!
What is Christmas Crack?
Christmas Crack is generally a layer of salada/saltine type crackers coated with a brown sugar butter mixture and topped with melted chocolate. Once set the crackers absorb the buttery brown sugar into a crisp toffee base, and set chocolate top. The fun thing about Christmas Crack is it’s so versatile you can adapt it to however you like!
I remember first hearing about and making Christmas Crack about 14 years ago and it blew my mind! I love that it’s become viral again, so this year making it I wanted to create my own version of Christmas Crack which has a crunchy salted chip and pretzel base which gives loads of texture, a Christmas spiced toffee and a chocolate top. I semi-melted the chocolate chips as I love the rustic textural look of the Crack!
Christmas Crack is the perfect balance of sweet and salty which makes it so addictive!
I took this Christmas Crack to a family picnic, which was demolished so fast! My Gran brought some freshly picked boysenberries along to the picnic and they were so delicious served on top of the Christmas Crack! How good would Christmas Crack be served with ice cream, yum!
I hope you enjoy this as much as we did! Let me know in the comments below if you make it!
