Gingerbread Star Puff Pastry Wreath
Equipment
- 1 Start Cookie Cutter
Ingredients
- 4 frozen flakey pastry sheets defrosted
- 40 g butter
- 100 g brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- 40 mls milk
- 1 tablespoon raw sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Melt the butter, brown sugar and golden syrup together.
- Once the sugar has dissolved stir in the spices.
- Spread out the brown sugar mixture evenly over two sheets of pastry, place a plain sheet of pastry on top of each sugar mix spread pastry sheet to make a pastry sandwich.
- Gently cut out as many stars as you can over the two pastry sandwiches, keep all the extra off cuts to bake too as these are equally delicious (you can also pop them in the freezer to pull out for lunch boxes).
- Brush each pastry star with milk then start overlapping the stars into a circle shape to the size of your oven tray/baking paper then sprinkle with raw sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the pastry is puffed up and golden.
